Premier League relegation battle: Will Nottingham Forest, Luton or Burnley stay up?

The Premier League relegation battle is continuing to take shape as we race towards the end of the season.

Last Saturday saw Sheffield United's demise confirmed, while Everton and Brentford secured safety.

That means the battle at the bottom is now between Burnley, Luton and Nottingham Forest, with two of the three going down.

Luton missed a chance to climb out of the drop zone as they drew 1-1 with Everton on Friday, with their chances of relegation rising from 78% to almost 86% after the result.

Burnley, who picked up a battling 1-1 draw at Manchester United with an 87th-minute equaliser last time out, have a 14.5% chance of survival according to data analyst Opta.

Nottingham Forest, in 17th, are above Luton on goal difference and are said to have just a 28.9% chance of going down.

But it's complicated...

Nottingham Forest: BBC Sport's Simon Stone explains the impact of points deduction

While Forest's four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules (PSR) has been applied, they have appealed against the decision. That appeal was set to be heard on Wednesday, 24 April.

The hearing was expected to be wrapped up within a day, but Forest will have to wait to discover if they are successful - with the timeframe of the outcome unclear.

They are expected to discover their fate before the final day of the season.
