Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal LIVE REACTION: Gunners hang on to crucial win to send Premier League title race to final day

Arsenal beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon to keep their Premier League title hopes alive.

The Gunners had to avoid dropping points to prevent rivals Manchester City from having the chance to get their hands on the trophy this week.

And they did, coming away with a win thanks to Leandro Trossard’s goal in the first half.

Trossard tapped in from close range after Casemiro’s error meant Kai Havertz was onside, allowing the German to slide a ball across for his teammate to score.

After the opener, Mikel Arteta’s side barely had a chance but with United wasteful with their opportunities they held onto their lead.

The three points sent Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League with one game to play and they now have to rely on Man City dropping points.

City take on Tottenham on Tuesday night but no matter what happens there, the title race will be going down to the final game of the season.

You can recap the action in our live blog below...

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

That's all for our live coverage of Arsenal's 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford!

The Gunners have moved back to the top of the Premier League table and ensured that the title race will go down to the last day.

Mikel Arteta's side will now anxiously wait to see how Manchester City do at bitter rivals Tottenham in midweek with their fate still out of their own hands.

You can read more reaction to the game below...

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Arsenal have kept 11 away clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

Only Chelsea in 2008-09 (12) have ever recorded more on the road in a campaign in the competition.

The Gunners have been immense at the back.

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Mikel Arteta has reacted to Arsenal's 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

"We needed a result today in a really difficult place," Arteta told BBC Sport. "Our history was not in favour of a result today, there was so much at stake and we're happy with the result.

"We started the game really well and were dominant. We scored the goal and I think the goal led to slightly bad things because we started to play too safe, too sideways, too backwards with not enough structure.

"We started to give the ball away in good areas and that is a danger against them. But we defended well and didn't concede too much."

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Arsenal now have to rely on Manchester City dropping points.

And who do they need to win this week? Their biggest rivals.

Tottenham are City's next opponents and the Gunners fans will be praying for a Spurs victory for possibly the first time ever...

It's fair to say the rivalry is going out the window for Kai Havertz too.

He told Sky Sports: “I'm going to be the biggest fan of Tottenham ever on Tuesday. Let's hope for the best.”

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Arsenal's match-winner Leandro Trossard has now given his reaction to the game.

Trossard said: "Maybe it wasn't the prettiest game but credit to the guys, we defended so well.

"We kept another clean sheet and one goal is enough to win the game.

"We were struggling a little bit so it was so nice to get the win.

"When you're only 1-0 up it is always a bit tricky. We were trying to score a second but they are dangerous on the counter-attack.

"It is a great run for us and now we take it to the final game. You never know what is going to happen."

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

None of Leandro Trossard’s 20 Premier League goals since the start of last season (13 with Arsenal, 7 with Brighton) have been a penalty.

Only Phil Foden (28) and Gabriel Martinelli (21) have more goals in the competition during that time without any being a penalty.

The Belgian has led his side to a pivotal victory today.

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Manchester United have lost 19 games in all competitions this season, their most since 1978-79 (also 19).

They have also fallen to nine defeats at Old Trafford this term which is their joint-most at home in a season, along with 1920-21, 1930-31, 1933-34, 1962-63 and 1973-74.

A dismal campaign continues for the Red Devils.

The heavens have opened at Old Trafford!

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Arsenal have won three successive Premier League games against Manchester United for the first time since September 1998.

Meanwhile, this season is just the fourth time they’ve done the double over them in the competition, after 1997-98, 2001-02 and 2006-07.

Mikel Arteta's side have found the solution to beating the Red Devils.

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

Arsenal have now won 27 Premier League games this season.

That is their outright most ever in a campaign in the competition, and most in any league season since 1970-71 (29).

The Gunners have been incredible all year but they still have to rely on Man City slipping up!

  • Man United 0-1 Arsenal: REACTION

The Premier League title race will go down to the final day!

Arsenal are back at the top ahead of Manchester City's game against Tottenham on Tuesday night.

If their North London rivals beat City, the Gunners will be one win away from winning the title!

If Pep Guardiola's side win, they will have to rely on a slip-up from the reigning champions to get their hands on the trophy.
