Agent suggests West Ham or Crystal Palace can get ‘extraordinary’ striker for £4m

If Florin Manea was feeling a little worn out by the Radu Dragusin saga, then one of the most vocal agents in European football isn’t letting the post-January fatigue show.

Almost as soon as the window closed, Tottenham Hotspur snapping up Radu Dragusin in a £26 million deal under the noses of Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and Napoli, the Romania international’s agent set about floating another of his clients to the media.

A talented, versatile and speedy young forward who, Manea feels, has a pretty good chance of joining Dragusin in the Premier League this summer. Particularly if he catches the eye during this summer’s European Championships, a seat on the plane to Germany all-but secured for the Tottenham newbie’s Tricolorii team-mate.

“I want to help him (and) I would like to bring him to England,” Manea told Fanatik of Denis Dragus a couple of weeks ago.

“He has Premier League value, but we are not talking about the top five (club). We are talking about a West Ham, a Crystal Palace. We have already had a few discussions. He was also close to Stoke City before going to Gaziantep.

“The way he prepares now and how he plays, he has a chance (of getting a big move). He plays well in Europe, the chances are high that he will come to the Premier League”

Now, there is nothing yet to suggest that Dragus, on loan at Gazientep from Belgian outfit Standard Liege, is actually a target for West Ham or Crystal Palace, even if Manea feels that both clubs would benefit from the 24-year-old’s presence.

But after scoring 13 goals while playing either through the middle or wide on the left this season, and with his Standard contract expiring in just over a years’ time, Dragus’ represents potentially excellent value for money in an era where forwards have seldom been more expensive.

Denis Dragus may be available for £4 million

“Dragus (has) extraordinary speed. He’s in form, he’s scored goals. There’s interest in him,” Manea now adds, in further discussions with Fanatik. “There are two clubs in Germany and three in Portugal who are interested in him.”

As for Dragus’ price-tag?

“Four to five million. Around 5 million (euros),” the agent adds. “Although he is in the last year of his contract, (so) the price could be a little lower.”

HITC Football understands that West Ham and Crystal Palace are in the market for attacking additions this summer, AZ Alkmaar talisman Vangelis Pavlidis the object of affection at both London clubs.

And after securing a move to England for Radu Dragusin in January, Manea is hungry for a repeat.
